Description

Nicotinamide, also known as Vitamin B3 (niacinamide, nicotinic acid amide), is the amide form of nicotinic acid (pyridine-3-carboxylic acid). It is a water‑soluble vitamin that the body does not store. Dietary sources of this vitamin include nicotinamide, nicotinic acid, and tryptophan. Product Application

Niacinamide is a nutrient and dietary supplement that serves as an available form of niacin. Nicotinic acid is pyridine-3-carboxylic acid, and nicotinamide is its corresponding amide. It is a highly water‑soluble powder, with approximately 1 gram dissolving in 1 milliliter of water. Unlike niacin, it has a bitter taste that is masked in encapsulated products. It is widely used for fortifying cereals, snack foods, and powdered beverages. In personal care, it acts as a skin stimulant and skin smoother. USP‑grade nicotinamide is used as a food additive, in multivitamin formulations, and as an intermediate in pharmaceutical and cosmetic manufacturing.
