This sodium dodecyl sulfate product has a purity of at least 99%, appearing as a white crystalline powder with a mild characteristic smell. It melts at 206–207°C and decomposes when heated to boiling. Its vapor pressure at 25°C is negligible, and the relative density at 20°C is 1.03. It dissolves readily in water, is slightly soluble in ethanol, and does not dissolve in chloroform. The product remains stable under proper storage but is incompatible with cationic surfactants and lead salts.
