Description

Kojic acid, a tyrosinase inhibitor, is produced by several fungi species, including Aspergillus oryzae. It offers skin-lightening effects by chelating the copper-containing enzyme tyrosinase during melanin formation. It is widely used as a whitening agent in daily cosmetics and bleaching products. It also acts as a therapeutic agent that helps prevent skin pigmentation.Kojic Acid

Product Application of Kojic acid#501-30-4

Kojic acid is a skin-lightening agent that functions through antioxidant activity. As a tyrosinase inhibitor, it is less potent than licorice extract. When blended with allantoin and other suitable ingredients in sunscreens, the mixture can suppress UV-induced erythema and speed up wound healing. It may cause skin sensitization and irritation in some users.
