Description

Perchloroethylene, also known as tetrachloroethylene, is a colorless liquid with a mild ethereal odor. It is slightly soluble in water and dissolves readily in most organic solvents. It has a broad range of industrial applications, serving as a chemical intermediate, dry cleaning agent for industrial and professional use, surface cleaner for industrial parts, heat transfer fluid, and professional solution for film cleaning and copying. It is also used as an intermediate in manufacturing fluorinated chemicals and for metal degreasing in industrial surface treatment.
