It helps fumaric acid dissolve more easily in powdered fruit beverages. It can stabilize chewing gum formulations at a maximum usage level of 0.5% by weight. In canned milk, it boosts and preserves flavor stability throughout shelf life. It also serves as a processing aid in raw sugar production. It is often referred to as sodium dioctylsulfosuccinate.
