Description

Products Description of sec-Butyl Acetate CAS#105-46-4

Sec-butyl acetate is a colorless, flammable liquid with a fruity odor. It has wide applications including fragrances, pharmaceuticals, solvents, metal cleaners, reaction media, and extractants. In recent years, as global environmental regulations for chemicals have grown stricter, the industry has been reducing the use of solvents like toluene, xylene, and ketones. The trend is to develop resin coatings and adopt oxygenated solvents such as acetates to replace aromatics and ketones in volatile coating formulations. Sec-butyl acetate fits this development direction well.Butyl Acetate

Product Application of sec-Butyl Acetate CAS#105-46-4

Sec-butyl acetate dissolves many substances effectively. It serves as a solvent in industrial production of nitrocellulose coatings, acrylic coatings, polyurethane coatings, etc., which are used for aircraft wing coatings, artificial leather coatings, and automotive coatings. It is also used in manufacturing celluloid products, rubber, safety glass, coated paper, and patent leather. In printing, it acts as a volatile solvent for offset printing inks. Additionally, it functions as a fast-drying agent for photosensitive materials. It can be used in penicillin purification. With moderate volatility and good skin permeability, it is also used as a transdermal absorption enhancer in pharmaceutical formulations.
