Description

Industrial-grade acrylic acid has a purity of at least 99%, appearing as a colorless clear liquid with a strong irritating smell. It has a melting point of 13.5°C and a boiling point of 141°C. At 25°C, its vapor pressure is 0.4 kPa, and its relative density at 20°C is 1.0511. It is fully miscible with water and soluble in ethanol, ether, and chloroform. It is chemically reactive and tends to polymerize easily; it is incompatible with strong oxidizers, bases, and polymerization initiators.Acrylic acid

Product Application of Acrylic acidCAS#79-10-7
Acrylic acid exhibits typical carboxylic acid reactivity. When reacted with alcohols, it forms the corresponding acrylic esters. Esters and salts derived from acrylic acid are collectively called acrylates (or propenoates). Major alkyl acrylate monomers include methyl acrylate, butyl acrylate, ethyl acrylate, and 2-ethylhexyl acrylate.
