Hydroxyapatite is a white odorless powder with industrial purity ≥99%. It decomposes at high temperature rather than boiling; its melting point is 1100 °C. Vapor pressure is negligible at 25 °C, density 3.076 g/cm³ at 18 °C. It is insoluble in water but soluble in dilute acids. The product is chemically stable and incompatible with strong acids.
