Hydroxypropyl acrylate is a clear, colorless liquid that mixes well with water and dissolves in most organic solvents. It is a multifunctional difunctional acrylate monomer with high reactivity. It is mainly used as a copolymer monomer in polymer production or as a chemical reactant for making chemical intermediates. In polymer manufacturing, it can copolymerize with acrylic acid, acrylates, methacrylates, vinyl acetate, vinyl chloride, vinylidene chloride, styrene, butadiene, and other materials. Reaction partners include aromatic and aliphatic isocyanates, anhydrides, and epoxides. Polymers and intermediates made from this monomer are widely used in automotive topcoats, architectural coatings, photocuring resins, and adhesive products.
