Industrial-grade polyvinylpyrrolidone has a purity of ≥99%, appearing as white to off-white crystalline powder with no odor. It decomposes at temperatures above 150℃ with no fixed boiling point. Its vapor pressure is negligible at 25℃, and relative density is 1.14 at 20℃. It dissolves readily in water, ethanol, and methanol, but is insoluble in ether and benzene. The product is stable under normal conditions and incompatible with strong oxidizing agents and some metal salts.

Product Application of Polyvinylpyrrolidone CAS#9003-39-8
It functions as a clarifying agent, pigment stabilizer, and colloidal stabilizer. It is widely used for clarifying beer and improving stability (typical dosage: 8–20g/100L, hold for 24 hours then filter out). It can be used together with proteases and protein adsorbents. It is also applied to clarify wine and prevent discoloration (typical dosage: 24–72g/100L).
