Description

Aniline is the most basic primary aromatic amine, formed by replacing one hydrogen atom on benzene with an amino group. It is a colorless, oily, flammable liquid with a strong characteristic odor. It boils at 184 °C, is slightly soluble in water, and dissolves readily in ethanol, ether, chloroform, and other organic solvents. It darkens upon exposure to air or sunlight. It can be steam-distilled; a small amount of zinc powder is usually added during distillation to prevent oxidation. Purified aniline may be stabilized with 10–15 ppm NaBH4 to avoid oxidative degradation. Aniline solution is weakly alkaline.Aniline

Product Application

Aniline has long been a vital industrial chemical. Today, its largest uses are in the production of polyurethanes and rubber products.
