Product Application
Lauric acid is naturally present in many vegetable oils, especially coconut oil and laurel oil. It may provide synergistic antimicrobial effects when used in formulated products. It is a mild irritant but not a sensitizer, and some references note it may be comedogenic. Lauric acid is a fatty acid derived from coconut oil and other vegetable fats. It is nearly insoluble in water but soluble in alcohol, chloroform, and ether. It acts as a lubricant, binder, and defoaming agent in various applications.
