Product Application of Dibutyl phthalate CAS# 84-74-2

Dibutyl phthalate is a versatile fine chemical widely applied across multiple industrial sectors.

It is primarily used as a high-efficiency plasticizer for all kinds of plastic materials. Besides plastic processing, it serves as a key raw material for cosmetics, safety glass, pesticides, printing inks, paper coatings, adhesives and elastomers. It is also adopted in the production of industrial explosives and solid rocket propellants.

In the dental industry, it acts as a solvent for polysulfide dental impression materials. For fragrance products, it works as both a solvent for perfume oils and an excellent perfume fixative. In textile manufacturing, it functions as a professional textile lubricant.

In personal care products, it is used as an emollient in aerosol antiperspirants. Additionally, it can be formulated into insect repellent products for pest control purposes.
