Methylprednisolone is a synthetic medium-potency glucocorticoid with potent anti-inflammatory, immunoregulatory and anti-allergic activities, playing an important role in clinical therapy. As a glucocorticoid agent, it is used for emergency treatment of critical illnesses. It can also manage endocrine disorders, rheumatic diseases, collagen diseases, skin diseases, allergic conditions, ophthalmic diseases, gastrointestinal disorders, hematological diseases, leukemia, shock, cerebral edema, multiple neuritis, myelitis, and prevent chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting.
